Giving Back

I know in my heart and from experience that giving can be a source of true happiness. There are so many ways to make a difference – whether through random acts of kindness, volunteering your time, or donating resources.

Lionel Richie shared this story with me:

“When we did We Are the World, a kid asked why we were helping all these people in Africa when so many Americans were suffering. I said, ‘Is this your mother’s house right here with the trash in the front yard?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘I’m not asking you to save the world. Just save somebody you know. If one person would just pick out one person and clean that up, the world would be a better place.'”

Here is a list of charitable organizations and foundations that the celebrities I’ve interviewed have contributed to. Perhaps you will be drawn to one or more of them that you would like to support in some way, or perhaps you know someone who can benefit from their services.

As always, please feel free to share your thoughts.
